The Pearl: Part 3: The Herring
As the little pearl was adding the finishing touches to his house, someone was knocking on his door. “H-hello?” A little weak voice whispered. “I-is any b-body home?” It whispered. “Come in!”Said the little pearl. “Ok…”the little fish replied. “Hey. Are you a herring?” The pearl asked. “Yes.” said the herring. “Can I live here too? I was separated from my school, I promise I won't cause any trouble.”said the herring a bit louder this time. “Ok. just don’t open the box in the corner.” But all that warning did was make the little herring tempted to open it. Though tempted he did not open it and was respectful to the rules. During supper, the little pearl asked, “Why were you separated from your school?” “It was because of a shark.” The little pearl was a little surprised. “What did the shark look like?” The pearl asked. “Ummm.... it looked like it had a scar on i-`” “That’s the shark!!!” The pearl shouted. “What shark?” The little herring replied. I once bumped into a shark and scared it. I barely got away, so I believe that it will keep searching for me.” “Ohhhhhh….. I got it” replied the little herring. “By the way, what is your name?” Said the little pearl. “My name is Henry. What is yours?” “My name?” said the pearl. “Well…. You see, I d-don’t have a name.”
